Mountain Biking In The Yorkshire Dales, Lower Winskill

Do you have ideas for active travel routes?

The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority is embarking on an exciting new project to improve active travel opportunities in and around the National Park by developing an Active Travel plan for the National Park.

Active travel is defined as a journey where all, or part of the trip has involved some form of physical activity.  In rural areas and protected landscapes forms of active travel would include walking, wheeling (wheelchair or active mobility aid), cycling and horse riding.

The YDNPA is asking visitors, residents, communities and organisations to suggest active travel routes they would like to see in the National Park.  Submit your travel route suggestions on the interactive map here

Active travel routes could include:

  • New active travel routes you would like to see developed
  • Improving or extending existing active travel routes
  • Improving or creating a crossing point across a busy road
  • Active travel routes linking towns, settlements and villages

The closing date for suggestions is the 22 November 2024
